SEO Training for Marketing Teams

A marketing lead mapping search opportunities onto a website plan

SEO training for marketing teams should change what your team does next, not give everyone another folder of slides. I provide applied, one-to-one training built around your website, your buyers, and the work already on your roadmap.

We use your real pages, data, and decisions as the curriculum. Your marketing lead learns how to choose the right opportunities, brief the work, review it, and explain why it matters. The training produces work your company can use while building a search process the team can keep running.

Train the person responsible for SEO on the work in front of them

Most teams do not need every employee to become an SEO specialist. They need one person who can make sound search decisions and help writers, developers, designers, and subject-matter experts do their parts well.

That is why this is delivered as one-to-one coaching for the person who owns the outcome. We can bring other team members into the work when their input matters, but the engagement keeps one clear owner instead of turning the training into a general seminar.

The curriculum follows the highest-impact problems on your site. That may include:

  • finding high-intent searches tied to your products or services
  • mapping one clear search intent to each important page
  • deciding which existing pages to improve before creating more content
  • writing content briefs that give writers a useful target
  • reviewing copy for intent, clarity, evidence, and conversion paths
  • spotting technical problems that need a developer
  • improving internal links so important pages receive more authority
  • building pages that can be discovered and cited in AI-generated answers
  • choosing metrics that connect search work to qualified leads and revenue

You do not spend six weeks learning concepts you cannot use. We apply the 80/20 rule: identify the small number of decisions most likely to move the site, then train through those decisions in order.

A custom SEO curriculum built around your website

A fixed course has to teach the average problem. Your team does not have an average website.

A SaaS company may need product, use-case, comparison, and integration pages. A consulting firm may need to turn expertise into service pages and proof. An established site may have enough content already and need better prioritization, internal links, and technical cleanup.

We start with the business model, the current site, the people available to execute, and the decisions already blocking progress. From there, I build the training around the gap between where the site is and what the team needs to do next.

That keeps the work concrete. If the team needs a keyword map, we build the keyword map. If a writer needs a brief, we build and review the brief. If a developer needs priorities, we separate issues that affect discovery or usability from issues that can wait.

Use cases for marketing teams

Your team creates content but cannot defend the priorities

A content calendar is not a search strategy. We connect planned pages to real demand, a clear buyer problem, and a place in the conversion path. That gives the team a reason to create each page and a way to judge whether it worked.

SEO is split across several roles

The strategist, writer, developer, and designer may each own one part of the work. We define the handoffs and review points so SEO does not disappear between departments.

An agency or freelancer executes, but nobody inside can evaluate the work

Training gives your internal owner enough judgment to question a recommendation, approve a brief, and connect a report to business results. Outside help can still execute, but the strategy stays inside the company.

Organic traffic is growing without producing enough business

We shift the plan toward searches made by people comparing options, solving expensive problems, or preparing to buy. More traffic is not the goal if the visitors have no reason to become customers.

Leadership wants an AI-search plan

We separate the work that makes your site eligible to appear from the work that makes a page worth citing. That includes crawl access, focused pages, original evidence, clear answers, credible sources, and authority beyond your own website.

What the training includes

The engagement includes:

  • a custom SEO strategy for your site
  • twice-monthly live coaching calls
  • daily chat support between calls
  • direct review of briefs, pages, reports, and priorities
  • walkthroughs of the tools and templates I use
  • a running action plan so the next step stays clear

The work is fully remote. Coaching starts at $1,500 per month. There is no required minimum, although three months is recommended because the team needs enough time to apply the work, review what happened, and improve the process.

What your team should be able to do

The outcome is not a certificate. It is better judgment applied to the website.

Your SEO owner should be able to:

  • choose opportunities based on intent, difficulty, and business value
  • explain why a page should exist before assigning it
  • give writers and developers clearer instructions
  • review work without relying on a green score from a plugin
  • distinguish a real constraint from a low-priority cleanup task
  • measure progress without treating rankings or traffic as the final result
  • keep the strategy moving when an agency, freelancer, or employee changes

I cannot promise a ranking or a fixed revenue result. Search depends on competition, authority, execution, and time. I can help your team choose stronger work, avoid expensive dead ends, and build a process it understands.

Why train with Ryan BeMiller

I have spent more than 25 years leading web strategy, digital experience, and SEO work. My coaching is practical because it is built around the decisions companies have to make: which page to create, which problem to fix, which metric to trust, and which task can wait.

In one consulting engagement, a client went from 20 to 74 monthly leads and added $120,000 in new revenue from organic search after we rebuilt the strategy around high-intent keywords, stronger service pages, and a clearer lead path. The useful lesson is not that every site will produce the same number. It is that the work improved when the site was planned around qualified demand instead of traffic alone.
